Description

There used to be a good vista of the park from across the Congaree River at Congaree Bluffs Heritage Preserve. I visited it last in April 2007 and it was like looking over the Amazon basin, an endless plain of green. But since then the view has been largely obscured by tree growth. But I found a lovely if not quite as expansive view crossing back over the river on state rte. 601 on the ridge before the bridge crossing. Everything beyond the bridge is in the park.
